Since 2006, Mickaël Marcerou has been running a beef cattle farm in Ariège, southern France, giving him first-hand experience of the realities of agricultural production and the food supply chain. He is currently Vice-President of La Coopération Agricole, the unified representation of French agricultural, forestry and agri-food cooperatives (around 2,000 cooperatives with a total turnover of €116 billion), where is he in charge of European affairs.

At EU level, he is Vice-President of COGECA, the European federation of agricultural, forestry and fisheries cooperatives, where he is particularly involved in food chain issues and represents the organisation within the EU Observatory on production costs, margins and trading practices in the agri-food supply chain.

He is also a board member of Arterris, a multi-purpose agricultural cooperative, and serves as President of the CCPA Group, a cooperative union of which Arterris is a member, active at international level in animal nutrition, research, and innovation”.
